FAQs

"How does my body detox after a lymphatic massage?" Lymphatic drainage stimulates your lymphatic system to move waste and toxins toward your lymph nodes, where they are processed and eliminated. Your body naturally eliminates these through urine, sweat, and digestion. Staying hydrated helps this process. "How long does the detox process last?" The detox process typically lasts about 72 hours. During this time, your body will be processing waste through urination, sweating, and bowel movements.   "What should I eat or drink after a session?" Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water to flush out toxins. Focus on light, anti-inflammatory meals like leafy greens, lean protein, and fresh fruits. Avoid processed foods and excess salt, as they can slow the detox process.   "Can I drink alcoholic beverages after a session?" It’s best to avoid alcohol for 24 hours post-session. Alcohol can strain your liver and kidneys, which are already working to process and eliminate toxins. Stick to water or herbal teas to support your body’s natural detoxification. "Can I work out after my lymphatic drainage massage?" It’s best to avoid intense exercise for at least 24 hours after your session. Your body is in detox mode and needs time to process and eliminate waste. Light movement like walking or stretching is encouraged to support circulation and lymph flow. "Can I get a lymphatic drainage massage if I have cancer?" If you have an active cancer diagnosis, please consult your healthcare provider before booking. While lymphatic drainage can support overall health, it’s essential to ensure it’s safe for your specific condition.

Post-Op FAQs

How soon after my surgical procedure can I get Post-Op MLD? Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is generally recommended within 24-48 hours post-surgery, depending on your doctor’s approval. Starting early helps reduce swelling, prevent fibrosis, and promote healing. Always consult with your surgeon for clearance. What are the benefits of getting Post-Op MLD? Does it help my Post-Op results? Post-op MLD helps reduce swelling, inflammation, and bruising by improving fluid circulation. It also accelerates healing, prevents fibrosis, and enhances surgical results by contouring the body and minimizing fluid retention. What should I be aware of before an MLD session if I recently had surgery? Communicate any discomfort or open wounds to your therapist. Follow your surgeon’s aftercare plan and avoid wearing tight clothing to your session. Stay hydrated to support your body’s detox process. Is it going to be painful? MLD is a gentle, non-invasive technique designed to be soothing and pain-free. If you feel any discomfort, especially after surgery, let your therapist know so they can adjust the pressure to ensure comfort. How will I feel after? You’ll likely feel lighter, less swollen, and more relaxed. Some clients report increased energy or mild fatigue as their body processes toxins. Drink plenty of water to support detoxification and follow post-session care instructions. If incisions are open or leaking, can I receive Post-Op MLD? Yes, MLD can still be performed around open or leaking incisions. Your therapist will work carefully to avoid aggravating these areas while still supporting proper lymphatic drainage. Always inform your therapist about the state of your incisions beforehand. How many sessions are recommended for optimal results? The number of sessions depends on your procedure and recovery needs. For most clients, 5-10 sessions are recommended to achieve the best results, with the first few spaced closer together.

Your recovery matters. Let us help you feel your best with personalized MLD care tailored to your journey.
